El presidente de la Mesa Directiva, Alejandro Armenta, rechazó los señalamientos del gobernador de Texas, Greg Abbot, quien aseguró que México no ha hecho nada para frenar los flujos migratorios y que si esto ha disminuido es por las medidas que ha tomado su gobierno.

En conferencia de prensa, el senador informó que legisladores de Morena se reunieron con funcionarios del Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (INEGI), para dar a conocer diversos temas relacionados con la economía, pero también sobre la migración y el impacto de las remesas, que es una de las fuentes más importantes de ingresos para nuestro país.

Armenta respaldó las declaraciones del presidente Andrés Manuel López Obrador quien, en su conferencia mañanera, admitió que la migración hacia Estados Unidos se redujo y no por el muro flotante instalado por el gobernador de Texas, Greg Abbot, sino por las iniciativas regionales para ordenar los flujos migratorios.

El legislador consideró que la baja en este fenómeno tiene que ver con la atención de los problemas de fondo y con la generación de empleos, que se han detonado por las grandes obras impulsadas por esta administración, como la construcción del Corredor Interoceánico del Istmo de Tehuantepec y la Refinería de Dos Bocas, entre otras.

“En el Istmo de Tehuantepec y en el sursureste del país hay una explosión económica en términos de empleo. Las inversiones del Tren Interoceánico, del Tren Maya, de la Refinería de Dos Bocas se han convertido en una atracción importante para empleos bien remunerados y para generar el desarrollo de las tecnologías en materia de ingeniería y para los prestadores de servicios”, indicó.

Alejandro Armenta confió en que, una vez concluidas estas obras, el empleo se mantendrá en la zona, porque muchos de los que ahora laboran en su construcción, necesariamente tendrán que apoyar su operación.

El legislador destacó las cifras históricas que se registran por las remesas, que del año 2012 al 2023 se han incrementado de 400 mil millones de pesos anuales a más de un billón cien mil pesos.

“En el año 2022, los ingresos por remesas históricas pasaron a un billón 176 mil pesos, y por ello rechazamos las posturas que ha tenido el gobernador de Texas, que señaló que México no ha tenido la capacidad de contener los flujos migratorios y que, en todo caso, los índices menores se deben a las estrategias que ellos han tenido con la construcción del muro fronterizo”.

Reiteró el exhorto hecho por el gobierno de México para que Estados Unidos y Canadá inviertan en programas para contener la migración en los países donde se genera el fenómeno, pues tiene su origen en la falta de oportunidades y soluciones a las carencias de los habitantes de esas comunidades.

En otro tema, a pregunta expresa, Alejandro Armenta explicó que debido a que se detectaron inconsistencias en los expedientes de 50 de las 70 personas propuestas por el presidente Andrés Manuel López Obrador para ocupar magistraturas vacantes de salas regionales del Tribunal Federal de Justicia Administrativa, los nombramientos se regresaron a la Mesa Directiva, para que en las próximas semanas se puedan discutir en comisiones y posteriormente se aborden en el Pleno.
